The first Abacus Ark Award winner we would like to introduce is Racheal Phillips. Racheal joined us at our Clapham nursery in June 2017 and in her short time with us she has undoubtedly made an impact on her colleagues, gaining the most votes in two categories. Rachel won awards for our creativity and thrive categories being describe as passionate, hardworking, helpful and knowledgeable.
One of her colleagues’ comments
“She has a great way of speaking to children to bring the best out in them. She is calm, attentive and challenges the children on a daily basis. She brings new ideas to the nursery and has done so well with her new group.”
Read Racheal’s profile below to get to know more about her!
Name: Racheal Phillips
Position: Key Teacher
Qualifications/Educational Background:
Level 3 CACHE
Experience
I have 2 Years’ of experience in a Montessori nursery, gaining experience across all age groups, and working closely with the pre-school children.
What do you love most about working with children?
Experiencing a child’s learning, it’s amazing to teach or demonstrate a skill or activity and watch a child learn, seeing them remember and obtain new skills and abilities. Maximising and challenging a child’s potential is a great way to see them grow.
What is your earliest memory as a child?
As the youngest of nine siblings, I have many memories; my earliest would be picking apples, orange and pears with my sisters outside in our garden.
Look out for our social media posts over the coming weeks to see what Rachel gets up to at nursery this month!
To share an insight into the daily lives of our teachers we are introducing short biographies of our Abacus Ark 2017 Awards winners and will be following them on our social media pages.
