Introducing Our New Autumn/Winter Menu by Lune & Wild
At Abacus Ark Nursery Schools, we’re delighted to introduce our new Autumn/Winter menu, thoughtfully created by Lune & Wild.
This exciting menu celebrates seasonal ingredients and nutritionally balanced recipes designed to support early childhood development and encourage children to explore new flavours.
Nourishing Recipes for Growing Minds
Each dish is created with care, balancing flavour, texture, and nutrition. Lune & Wild’s Co-Founder, Lara, shares her inspiration:
“In Autumn and Winter, we champion comforting root vegetables and store cupboard staples like beans and pulses. Our menu delivers 4–5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day—exceeding EYFS minimum requirements—and includes a variety of protein sources.
Classic dishes are given a plant-rich twist, like our Squash & Sweetcorn Macaroni Cheese, packed with fibre-rich veggies and loved by all age groups. We want mealtimes to be wholesome, joyful, and full of discovery!”
Menu Highlights
Our seasonal menu combines comfort, taste, and clever nutrition:
Turkey Curry with Brown Rice
Mildly spiced and rich in lean protein, this curry introduces gentle flavours and balanced energy. Chopped Medjool dates add fibre and natural sweetness.
Baked Fish Goujons with Root Veg Smash and Peas
A British favourite rich in Omega-3s, supporting healthy brain and body development. The root veg mash of swede, carrot, and potato offers Vitamin C and Potassium.
Seasonal Rice Pudding
A comforting dessert made without refined sugar—our rice pudding features chia seeds, baked apple, sweet potato, and cinnamon. It’s rich in Vitamin A and fibre, perfect for healthy digestion and energy.
On Mondays, we celebrate plant-based cooking with two vegetarian meals—encouraging sustainability and variety in every bowl.
Developed with Paediatric Nutrition Expertise
Our menus are crafted alongside Paediatric Nutritionist, Judith, who explains:
“Introducing children to a variety of plant-based foods early supports gut health and helps them develop a broad palate. Wholegrains provide B vitamins and minerals for growth, while fruits and vegetables deliver vitamins A, C, and E to strengthen immunity and skin health.”
At Abacus Ark, every meal is more than just delicious—it’s designed to nourish, educate, and inspire a lifelong love of good food.
