Introducing Miss Hanouf

The next Abacus Ark Award winner that we will be introducing is Hanouf Gotangogan, a key teacher at our Maida Vale Nursery.

Hanouf won an award for the Partnership category and was voted for by her colleagues at Maida Vale for her role as a ‘Community Officer’.  Winners of this category contribute wholeheartedly to the nurseries and are a valued member of their team. They always go the extra mile and never hesitate to support and assist others showing respect to everyone in the Abacus Ark family.

Hanouf’s colleagues describe her as having a positive attitude, always being supportive and assisting others.

Qualifications/Educational Background:
BA Education
NVQ Level 3

Experience:
I started as a volunteer in a day nursery then realised that I enjoyed working with young children. I became an apprentice for a year, working with children of 12 – 18 months and then I worked in a crèche for a year with children of 6 months – 2 years. Afterwards, I went to university to do my degree and subsequently become a key teacher for a year with children of 16– 26 months.

What do you love most about working in childcare?
Being creative, thinking outside the box and sharing the developmental milestones that are being achieved daily.

What is your earliest memory as a child?
Playing in the streets with my peers until the street lights came on.
